Invite a client to a project

Give a client Observer or Collaborator access to a specific project in four steps.

Before you invite

Client portals · 2 min read · Updated 29 May 2026

Client invitees join as Observers by default — they can see the board, comment, and view time entries, but can't create or delete items unless you promote them to Collaborator.

Privacy: Clients only see the projects they're explicitly invited to. Internal projects remain hidden.

Invite a client

1

Open Project settings → Access

In your project, click the gear icon, then Access. You'll see current members and a field to add new ones.

2

Enter the client's email

Type their email and select Observer or Collaborator from the role dropdown. Click Invite.

3

They receive an invite email

The client clicks the link to create a Karmo account (if they don't have one) or join directly. They land straight in your project.

4

Review their access anytime

Return to Project settings → Access to change their role, remove them, or see when they last viewed the board.
